At the time of the IMF bailout, Minsup Seong served as the Managing Partner of Lawfirm Hanbit, which was in charge of legal advice and execution throughout the financial industry restructuring process, and was in charge of corporate restructuring, rehabilitation, bankruptcy, inter-company M&A, asset-backed securitization, and sale of NPLs. In November of 2007, Minsup Seong paused his career as a lawyer with 16 years of experience and became a professor of Sookmyung Women’s University, College of Law.
As a professor in charge of legal practice and commercial law (corporate law, etc.), Minsup Seong was able to add legal theoretical depth to his legal practice experience by publishing a number of research papers in academic journals, and while working as an outside director of financial companies such as Korea Real Estate Investment and Trust and Hana Securities, he was able to continue to follow the changing flow of financial markets. Meanwhile, as a professor at College of Law with legal practice experience, he provided several legal advice related to the School’s administrative works, and he also directly and indirectly participated in the daily legal disputes of fellow teachers and students and helped them. These experiences in school life have served as an opportunity to enhance his ability to resolve legal disputes throughout daily life, together with the maintenance of his expertise as a lawyer specialized in finance.
After Minsup Seong retired from Sookmyung Women’s University on August 31, 2023, he joined ClassHankyul, and has been providing legal advice and conducting litigation related to corporate governance, compliance, management right disputes, loan products, financial investment products, and project/structured finance transactions for financial companies which are his major clients. Meanwhile, Minsup Seong also provides legal advice and conducts litigation related to general civil cases and family cases.
