ClassHankyul ("ClassHankyul") enforces the following processing policy in order to protect the rights and interests of users and ensure the unhindered resolution of grievances experienced by users in relation to personal information, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information
ClassHankyul processes personal information for the following purposes, and does not use processed information for purposes other than the following. In the event of a change in the purpose of use, ClassHankyul will seek consent in advance:
(1) Customer’s Personal Information: Provision of personal information on documents to be submitted to the court, prosecutors’ office, etc.; communication necessary for cases that the client has brought or is involved in, or are otherwise related to the client; issuance of invoices and tax statements; filing of VAT reports; sending of newsletters and other publications of the firm; and provision of information on events held by the firm and other information
(2) Personal Information of Attorneys and Other Licensed Professionals, General Staff and Internship Applicants: Confirmation of identity, academic credentials, professional experience, etc. of the applicant; confirmation that the requirements for application are met; management of past career history; notification of employment decisions; confirmation of intent to apply in case of further recruiting; and use as human resources information after joining the firm.
2. Items of Processed Personal Information
ClassHankyul processes the following items of personal information:
(1) Customer’s Personal Information
Corporations: Corporation name, business registration number, name of representative, address, name, and position of person in charge, contact information, and email address
- Individual: Name, resident registration number, address, contact information, email address, and other facts necessary for litigation
(2) Personal Information of Attorneys and Other Licensed Professionals, General Staff, and Internship Applicants
Name, date of birth, address, contact information, gender, email, and all personal information provided on curriculum vitae, personal statement, transcript, etc.
3. Matters Relating to Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
ClassHankyul provides personal information to third parties only in circumstances falling under Article 17 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as where consent has been given by the information subject, is specifically required by a law, etc. ClassHankyul currently does not provide personal information to third parties.
4. . Entrustment of Third Parties with Processing of Personal Information
ClassHankyul does not entrust third parties with the processing of personal information. Should entrustment occur, or where change has occurred to the details of an entrustment or a different entrustee has been designated, such fact will be disclosed without delay in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
5.Rights and Obligations of Information Subjects and Exercise of Their Rights
(1)An information subject may exercise the following rights pertaining to the protection of personal information with ClassHankyul at any time:
- Right to request viewing of personal information;
- Right to request correction of errors, etc.;
- Right to request deletion;
- Right to request suspension of processing.
(2)The rights under Paragraph 1 may be exercised by means of writing, email, fax, etc. to ClassHankyul using Form 8 of the Enforcement Regulation of the Personal Information Protection Act, and ClassHankyul will comply without delay.
(3) In cases where an information subject has requested correction or deletion of errors, etc. in their personal information, ClassHankyul does not use or provide such personal information until the correction or deletion has been completed. Provided, however, that exceptions may occur in accordance with the relevant law.
(4) The exercise of rights under Paragraph 1 may be done through a representative, such as a legal representative or a person given the power of attorney. In such cases, a letter of power of attorney must be submitted using Form 11 of the Enforcement Regulation of the Personal Information Protection Act.
6. Destruction of Personal Information
In principle, once the holding period has expired, or where the purpose of processing personal information has been achieved, ClassHankyul destroys the relevant personal information without delay. Provided, however, that in cases of information on a client or a counterparty in connection with the handling of legal affairs, the following procedures may be omitted for the purpose of confirming the existence of a conflict of interest, and other exceptions as prescribed by law may exist as well.
(1) Process of Destruction.
Information entered by a user is transferred to a separate database (if paper materials, to a separate document file) after the purpose has been achieved. The information will then be either immediately destroyed or destroyed after being stored for a certain period of time, in accordance with the relevant internal rules or law. Here, information transferred to the database is not used for any other purpose unless required otherwise by law.
(2) Destruction Deadline
A user’s personal information is destroyed within five days of the end of the holding period, and within five days of the day on which it is established that processing the personal information is no longer necessary, which grounds include fulfillment of the purpose of processing of the personal information, abolition of the relevant service, end of the relevant operation, etc.

(3) Method of Destruction
Information in the form of electronic files is destroyed using techniques that preclude the regeneration of the information. Personal information printed on paper is either mechanically shredded or burned.
7. Measures to Ensure Security of Personal Information
ClassHankyul implements the following technical, administrative, and physical measures to ensure the security of personal information in accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act:
- Minimization and training of staff handling personal information;
- Establishment and execution of internal management plans;
- Encryption of personal information;
- Technical measures against hacking, etc.;
- Restriction of access to personal information;
- Keeping of access records and prevention of forgery;
- Use of locking devices for document security;
- Restriction of entrance and exit by unauthorized persons.

8. Designation of Personal Information Protection Manager and Avenues for Relief
ClassHankyul has appointed the following persons as personal information protection managers to manage the overall aspects of the personal information processing operations and to resolve and remedy the grievances and damages that information subjects experience in connection with the processing of their personal information.

9. . Matters Pertaining to Changes in Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy will be effective as of the date of its enforcement, and any additions, deletions, or corrections due to changes in the relevant statutes, guidelines, and our law firm’s internal rules will be notified on this website seven days prior to their taking effect. .
