Attorney Namgeun Yoon was formerly a judge and professor, and is now a partner with the ClassHankyul. In a 20 year career with the judiciary, Namgeun Yoon presided over a variety of cases involving commercial affairs, international transactions, and bankruptcy, and then moved on to become a law school professor at Korea University to focus on research and practical education for prospective legal professionals.
During this time as a professor, Namgeun Yoon served in the public interest as a member of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea. While serving as the Chair of the Seoul Bankruptcy Court Rehabilitation Advisory Committee and the President of the Korean Association of Bankruptcy Law, Namgeun Yoon made efforts to ensure that actual insolvency practices accurately reflected academic advancements related to debtor rehabilitation and bankruptcy.
As a director and arbitrator for the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, Namgeun Yoon made efforts to advance the arbitration system in Korea by updating arbitration rules and educating arbitrators while polishing dispute resolution techniques through a number of arbitral awards on construction projects, mechanical equipment, and international transactions while also obtaining a deeper understanding of industrial technology. In addition, Namgeun Yoon contributed to the creation of the subcontracting related ADR system as the Chair of the Fair Trade Commission’s Subcontracting Dispute Mediation Committee. And as an independent director of SK Networks (2012 ~ 2018), Hyundai Securities (2012 ~ 2014) and Shinhan Card (2019 ~ 2021), Attorney Yoon gained experience in the corporate management and finance sectors.
